"Drug Sciences" PhD candidate

I am a third-year PhD student in "Drug Sciences" at the University of Parma, my main fields of interest are Green Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry. My PhD project is focused on the eco-sustainable design and synthesis of small molecules PCSK9 inhibitors, adopting both phenotypic screening and in-silico target-based approaches, and exploiting green chemistry tools such as microwave-assisted synthesis, electrochemistry and multi-component reactions. Once obtained my Master degree in "Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology" at the University of Pisa in 2021, with and experimental thesis in organic synthesis, I moved to Parma, where since 2022 I am pursuing my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Marco Radi. As visiting PhD student, I spent 6 months in a computational chemistry laboratory (supervisor: Prof. Tuccinardi, University of Pisa), where I learned the fundamentals of computer-aided drug design (docking programs, molecular dynamic simulations, virtual screening and pharmacophore model generation), and 3 months in an electrochemistry laboratory (supervisor: Prof. Lam, University of Greenwich).
