Resumen profesional
I am a postdoctoral scientist (María Zambrano Grants for the attraction of international talent), specialised in ecotoxicology at the Molecular entomology, biomarkers and environmental stress Group (EMBEA), UNED and the School of Biosciences of the University of Birmingham.
My research centers on the study of the toxic effects of environmental pollutants of anthropogenic origin. While my research emphasis now seeks to understand how organisms cope with variable and stressful environments. Invertebrates (insects and mollusks) are the primary focus of my endeavor by analizing state-of-the-art tools, and a systems biology approach, to investigate how these organisms detect, repair, and stabilize the cellular and molecular damage induced by environmental stress, as well as their broader physiology and ecology.
