Senior Scientist

Rudi Oliveira is currently a Senior Scientist II at Hovione FarmaCiência SA and an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Lisbon (PT). He holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from work developed in the University of Lisbon (PT) and University of Liverpool (UK). In 2014, he joined the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Pharmacy (UL, PT) as a researcher in Chemical Biology. In 2015, he moved to Hovione as chemist in the R&D Continuous Manufacturing group, dedicating two years to gather and create knowledge in the field, working in both internal and outsourced projects. In the following years, he moved through all areas of R&D related to process chemistry at Hovione, from development and scale-up in clinical stages to tech transfer and continuous improvement of commercial projects, combining knowledge of batch and flow operations. His core interests are the development of robust control strategies and application of continuous manufacturing.
