NIHR Pre-Doctoral Fellow

HCPC-registered Healthcare Scientist and Chartered Scientist working within Clinical Biochemistry (Laboratory Medicine) at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I have over a decade of experience across diagnostic services, quality improvement, healthcare leadership and workforce development. My academic background includes a BSc in Biochemistry, an MSc in Biomedical Sciences (Clinical Chemistry), and an Executive MBA in Healthcare Management. I am also a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. I am currently undertaking an NIHR Predoctoral Fellowship focused on developing expertise in epidemiology, data science and cardiovascular disease prediction. My research interests centre on the evaluation and external validation of machine learning cardiovascular risk prediction models using real-world NHS data, with a particular focus on improving equity, fairness and clinical applicability. My long-term ambition is to establish an independent clinical academic career at the intersection of healthcare data science, artificial intelligence, cardiovascular disease prevention and population health.
