Clinical Control Officer

I hold a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Anatomy from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, with a strong academic background and broad research experience spanning bioinformatics, chemoinformatics, molecular biology, and computational drug design. My research integrates molecular epidemiology and therapeutic discovery. Using phylogenetic and evolutionary analyses, I investigate the genetic diversity and adaptive mechanisms of pathogens and disease-related genes, with emphasis on HIV, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. These insights guide my computational drug design efforts, where I apply bioinformatics, molecular docking, QSAR modeling, and virtual screening to identify and optimize novel therapeutic targets and compounds. I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications exploring drug discovery against infectious and parasitic diseases, including SARS-CoV-2 and Plasmodium falciparum, as well as bioactive natural products with therapeutic potential. My expertise includes molecular docking, QSAR modeling, ligand- and structure-based drug design, virtual screening, RNA-seq analysis, and genomics data interpretation. Beyond computational research, I have practical laboratory experience in ELISA, PCR, Western blotting, DNA extraction, histopathology, and clinical chemistry, which strengthens my translational research capacity. Currently, I serve as a reviewer for Scientific African (Elsevier) and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Research International. I am actively involved in research collaborations.
