Swiss biopharmaceutical company at Allschwil near Basel, founded in 1997 by former Roche scientists and acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2017 for about thirty billion dollars, now part of the Janssen pharmaceutical companies. Specialises in medicines for pulmonary arterial hypertension including bosentan, macitentan and selexipag, together with treatments for other rare diseases, and its former drug discovery unit was spun out as Idorsia.
