American public land grant research university in Auburn, Alabama, founded in 1856 and the state's largest university by enrolment. Its Harrison College of Pharmacy, whose pharmacy programme dates to 1885, teaches the Doctor of Pharmacy at Auburn and Mobile with graduate programmes and research in drug discovery and development, health outcomes research and policy and pharmacy practice, and the university also runs colleges of veterinary medicine, sciences and mathematics, engineering and agriculture with related biomedical and animal health research.
