American chemical company founded at Midland in Michigan in 1897, which passed through the DowDuPont merger and became a subsidiary of the listed holding company Dow Inc. when the materials science business was separated in 2019. Makes packaging and speciality plastics, industrial intermediates and infrastructure products and performance materials and coatings, including polyethylene and polyurethane raw materials, silicones and excipient and packaging grades used by the pharmaceutical and personal care industries, and runs its own analytical, product safety and toxicology laboratories.
