Brazilian cancer charity at Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais, founded in 1972 by the surgeon Mário Penna, which runs the Luxemburgo and Hospital da Baleia cancer units and outpatient services. Treats patients largely through the public health system with surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and palliative care, runs a research and teaching centre with clinical trials in oncology and trains health professionals.
