British Medical Research Council research unit hosted at the Western Infirmary of the University of Glasgow in Scotland, established in 1980 and long directed by Anthony Dominiczak and before that by others in the Glasgow hypertension group. Researched the genetics, molecular mechanisms and treatment of high blood pressure, ran hypertension cohorts and clinical studies and contributed to blood pressure guidelines; its work was folded into the university's Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences when the unit closed.
