Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche

Spanish public university at Elche in Alicante province, founded in 1996 and named after the poet Miguel Hernández, with campuses also at Sant Joan d'Alacant, Orihuela and Altea. Teaches pharmacy, medicine, food science and technology, biotechnology, nursing, physiotherapy and psychology alongside engineering, law and fine arts, and carries out research through its institutes for bioengineering, neuroscience and molecular and cellular biology and its food quality and safety groups with its own laboratories.
