Peruvian public university in Lima, founded in 1551 and the oldest university in the Americas. Teaches through faculties of pharmacy and biochemistry, medicine, dentistry, chemical and manufacturing engineering, biological sciences and veterinary medicine, runs its own clinics and research institutes, and carries out research in pharmaceutical chemistry and drug development, medicinal plants of the Andes and Amazon, food science, biotechnology and public health with its own laboratories and analytical services.
