Université de Kinshasa

Congolese public university on the Mont Amba campus in Kinshasa, founded in 1954 as Lovanium and reorganised under its present name in 1981, the largest university in the country. Teaches through its faculties of medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, dentistry and science, trains most of the pharmacists and doctors of the country, runs the Kinshasa university clinics as its teaching hospital and the Kinshasa school of public health, and carries out research in pharmacognosy and Congolese medicinal plants, pharmacology, tropical disease and public health.
