Canadian French language university in Quebec City, whose origins go back to the seminary of Quebec of 1663 and which received its royal charter in 1852, the oldest French language university in North America. Teaches through its faculty of pharmacy, its faculty of medicine and its faculties of science and engineering and of agriculture and food sciences, works with the CHU de Québec university hospital for clinical teaching and trials, and carries out research in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacoepidemiology, medicinal chemistry and food science with its own research centres.
