The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) removed the pediatric indication for a diacetyl hexyl smectite formulation, leading clinicians to prescribe an alternative product, HydraSec. The sudden shift in demand resulted in a temporary shortage of HydraSec. Samjin Pharmaceutical announced on the 13th that it is strengthening real‑time demand monitoring to avoid disruptions and will dispatch normal stock quickly within this week and the next. The company emphasized that the product rarely experiences stock‑outs and attributed the current shortage to an abrupt surge in demand. Samjin pledged to continue efforts to ensure stable supply.
