2027 Korean Pharmacy School Admissions Expand Early and Essay Selection

The application period for the 2027 university admission early selection (수시) opens on July 7. This year, more than six out of ten new pharmacy students nationwide will be admitted through early selection. The essay (논술) selection route has widened compared to the previous year, with new pharmacy schools adopting the format and regional limitations being lifted to a nationwide scope. According to the 2027 admission plan, 37 pharmacy schools in South Korea have a total capacity of 1,764 students. Of these, 1,101 students (62.4%) will be selected through early admission. Notably, Gachon University and Samyuk University are among the schools introducing essay-based selection for the first time.
