The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's National Institute of Health announced the creation of a Korean‑specific prognostic framework that divides Alzheimer’s disease progression risk into six distinct stages.
The model was derived from cohort data of elderly dementia patients in Korea, enabling clinicians to stratify patients' risk of disease advancement more precisely than by cognitive stage alone.
The research results have been published in the international journal Nature Communications, highlighting the potential of the new system to improve prediction and management of Alzheimer’s disease in the Korean population.
