Biographie

As the President and CEO of TrippBio, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, I lead a team of dedicated and innovative scientists and professionals who are focused on discovering novel applications of existing drugs to prevent and treat viral infections. With more than 33 years of hands-on experience across the spectrum of drug discovery, pre-clinical development, Phase I-IV clinical development, and regulatory affairs, I have a proven track record of successfully moving compounds from the test tube to the patient in various therapeutic areas, including HIV/AIDS, hypertension, anti-thrombotic, NASH, and COVID-19. Throughout my career, I have leveraged my scientific expertise, business acumen, and entrepreneurial spirit to create value for various stakeholders, including investors, partners, customers, and patients. I have founded and co-founded several biotech companies, such as DFH Pharma, Kirrhos Pharmaceuticals, and Martin Pharma Consulting, and negotiated successful partnerships and licensing deals with leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies. I have been part of two successful exits: 1) the merger of Panacos Pharmaceuticals with V.I. Technologies (NASDAQ - PANC) and 2) the spin-out of DFH Therapeutics from DFH Pharma (private transaction). I have also contributed to the advancement of science and medicine through 20 provisional/granted patent applications, 151 peer-reviewed abstracts and publications, and several groundbreaking discoveries, such as the use of HIV RNA as a surrogate marker for HIV disease and the discovery and characterization of maturation inhibitors. My mission is to apply my passion, knowledge, and skills to develop safe and effective therapies that can address unmet medical needs and improve the quality of life for millions of people around the world.
