I am cancer research biologist, with 7 years of experience in the field of molecular oncology, drug resistance and drug delivery. My degree Biotechnology Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey (2013), conducted me towards pursuing a MS.c. in Molecular Medicine at the University of Leeds (2015). Here, under the supervision of Dr. Louise Coletta, studied dynamics anti-VEGFR microbubble binding to endothelial cells. This studies followed a PhD. degree in Medicine, at University of Leeds, under the supervision of Dr. Peter Laslo (2016-2019). My studies focused in the Role of Transcription Factors in Kinase-independent Drug Resistant Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. After my studies, I continued with postdoctoral training at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, under the guidance of Professor Sean Lawler, studying drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier for glioblastoma treatment (2019-2021). This in close collaboration with the Department of Chemistry at MIT, from which I became a Research Affiliate (2020-present). Dr. Lawler's lab moved to the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University in September 2021, where worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate focusing on modulatory programs in the blood-brain tumor barrier of glioblastoma for improved drug delivery. In October 2023, I transferred to the Pharmacology and Chemical Biology Department, as an Academic Research Scientist, under the guidance of Dr. Renee Read, where I currently work on the tumor microenvironment of pediatric high-grade gliomas. In here, I mainly focus on the role of the YAP/TAZ-TEAD axis in neurovascular interactions with the tumoral compartments for therapeutic targeting.
