Leyanis Rodríguez Vera, PhD, is an Associate Director of Clinical Pharmacology at Alkermes, with over 20 years of experience in quantitative clinical pharmacology. Her work focuses on supporting model-informed drug development (MIDD) through population pharmacokinetics (PopPK), PK/PD, and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling. Before joining Alkermes, she worked as a Senior Research Scientist at CTI Clinical Trial & Consulting Services, contributing to pharmacometric analyses for early-phase clinical studies and supporting dose selection and study design. She also completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Florida Center for Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, where she worked on clinically relevant modeling projects, including a Bayesian PopPK model later applied in clinical settings. She previously spent 17 years as a professor and researcher at the University of Havana, where she was involved in teaching, research, and clinical trial collaboration. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has experience in the development of biotechnology-derived therapies, including monoclonal antibodies and antibody–drug conjugates for oncology. She remains engaged in collaborative research and continues contributing to the application of pharmacometric approaches to support clinical development, currently focusing on small molecule programs in central nervous system (CNS) disorders at Alkermes.
