Román Foronda Sainz was born in Logroño (La Rioja), Spain, in 1996. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry at Universidad de La Rioja in 2019. In the last year of his degree, he worked on the stereoselective synthesis of non-proteinogenic amino acids, under the supervision of Alberto Avenoza Aznar. In 2019, he carried out the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Drug Discovery at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad de Alcalá de Henares and Universidad San Pablo CEU. During this year, he carried out a research project aimed at the discovery of new antiparasitic drugs at the CSIC Institute of Medical Chemistry of Madrid, under the supervision of Christophe Dardonville. In 2021 he joined the Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory to carry out his PhD under the supervision of Professor Silvia Ortega Gutiérrez and Henar Vázquez.
