Dr Saad Toyin Abdullahi obtained his B. Pharm degree from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in 2001 before embarking on a one-year internship training with Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Complex, Malumfashi Unit, Katsina State, North West Nigeria from 2001 – 2002. He served as a NYSC Pharmacist with General Hospital Geidam, Yobe State from 2002 – 2003 for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps assignment. Dr. S. T. Abdullahi joined the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria in July, 2012 as Lecturer II, having earned his M.Sc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) degree from ABU Zaria, in 2010. He obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 2017. Dr. S. T. Abdullahi is currently a Senior Lecturer and the Ag. Head of Department. His main areas of research interest include pharmaceutical analysis, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics and pharmacometrics. He is particularly interested in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics of medicines especially anti-infectives agents; pharmacogenetic influences on drug exposure and pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions involving HIV and malaria drugs; analytical method development for the assay of drugs in pharmaceutical formulations and biological fluids; pharmaceutical analysis and drug quality control. Dr S. T. Abdullahi is a member of the West African Society of Pharmacology (WASP), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP), Statistics and Pharmacometrics Interest Group (SxP), Nigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA) and Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN).
