Vasiliki Hatzi (BSc, MSc, PhD) is a Geneticist specialized in cytogenetics, genotoxicity and mammalian toxicology. Since 2018, she is working as a Regulatory Toxicologist in the field of Mammalian Toxicology, in Benaki Phytopathological Institute (BPI), Athens-Greece. Among other activities, she is involved in the evaluation of active substances of plant protection products (PPP), in the frame of the EU and National legislations. Since 2022 she has run and completed three (3) ISA contracts with European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in the frame of "EFSA call for Scientific and Technical Support" in the areas of food additive re-evaluation, and toxicology and epidemiology of chemicals in food specifications (scientific fields: genotoxicity, neurotoxicity). For her scientific work in the field of human cytogenetics and toxicology, she has been nominated with 2 scholarships, and 5 awards for the scientific novelty in collaborative projects. She is co-author of 42 peer reviewed publications, 6 book chapters, translator of 1 book of Genetics (450 pp), and participant of more than 70 posters and presentations in European and International Conferences. Outside the scientific laboratory she explores the intersection of biomedical sciences with arts, design, and technology. Creator of LaB.
