Bisoprolol Fumarate (CAS 104344-23-2) is the fumarate salt of a synthetic, phenoxy-2-propanol-derived cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist used for its antihypertensive and potential cardioprotective effects. Lacking intrinsic sympathomimetic activity, it selectively blocks cardiac beta-1 receptors to reduce heart rate, contractility, and cardiac output, and may further lower blood pressure by inhibiting renin secretion and activation of the renin-angiotensin system; cardioprotective effects have been observed in animal models.
