I recently earned my PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan, where my doctoral research focused on the discovery and structure–activity relationship (SAR) development of small-molecule SERCA2a activators to restore calcium homeostasis in diseased cardiomyocytes. Over the course of my PhD, I independently designed and synthesized over 50 novel compounds, executed multistep synthetic routes, and performed full analytical characterization (HPLC, NMR, MS), culminating in two peer-reviewed publications and a U.S. provisional patent application. In addition to my synthetic chemistry training, I bring experience in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), effective collaborations with computational chemists and biologists, and a strong track record of data-driven problem solving and scientific communication. I am now looking to apply my expertise in synthetic and medicinal chemistry, analytical characterization, and interdisciplinary teamwork to support innovation in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
