Résumé professionnel

Chengwei Jiang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University College London (UCL), specialising in inhalable nanomedicine, pulmonary drug delivery, and artificial intelligence–guided formulation design. He completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Science at UCL, where his research focused on the development of nano-based pulmonary delivery systems for phytochemicals and small-molecule therapeutics, with a particular emphasis on macrophage-targeted therapies for pulmonary fibrosis and inflammatory lung diseases. Dr. Jiang’s work integrates advanced nanocarrier engineering—including micelles, liposomes, and surface-functionalised nanoparticles—with next-generation analytical techniques such as NGI, LC-QToF, TEM, SEM, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and thermal and structural characterisation methods. His research also incorporates artificial neural networks and machine-learning models (RF, XGBoost, kNN, MLP) to optimise complex nanoformulations, bridging experimental pharmaceutics with data science. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed papers in nanomedicine and drug delivery, including publications in International Journal of Pharmaceutics, ACS Omega, and European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and has contributed to work under review in Biomaterials, ACS Nnao medicine, and Advanced Science. He has also presented his research at major international conferences such as CRS, BSNM, and ACS Spring Meeting. Alongside his academic contributions, Dr. Jiang has experience in interdisciplinary collaboration, having worked with leading researchers such as Prof. Abdul Basit, Prof. Dame Ijeoma Uchegbu, and Dr. Mohamed Elbadawi. His postdoctoral research focuses on developing dry-powder mRNA-loaded lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for inhalation therapy for cystic fibrosis, in collaboration with Prof. Jenny Lam and Prof. Stephen Hart at Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.
