Claudia Morilla Espino, PhD, is a researcher in biomaterials and regenerative medicine with expertise in calcium phosphate cements, bone regeneration, and localized drug delivery systems. She obtained her PhD from Leiden University Medical Center and has conducted research in both the Netherlands and Cuba. Her work focuses on the design, characterization, and translation of biomaterials for musculoskeletal applications, with particular interest in sustainable and accessible regenerative technologies. Her broader research interests include tissue engineering, implantable biomaterials, drug delivery, and the clinical translation of biomedical innovations. Alongside her research, Claudia is passionate about higher education and has experience teaching and supervising undergraduate students in biomaterials and related disciplines.
