I am a biologist and a biochemist, with a broad background in Biochemistry, microbiology,
molecular biology and parasitology. My desire to apply scientific knowledge to combating
infectious diseases (Leishmaniasis) and various bacterial diseases motivated me to focus my
research thus far on drug-resistant bacterial pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions.
During my Ph.D., I identified antimicrobial natural compound against Leishmaniasis and many bacterial diseases from the medicinal plants using Gas chromatography Mass spectrometric analysis techniques and performed in vitro using molecular dynamics and constructed a knowledgebase of
them using web technology. Further, using computational drug-discovery techniques including virtual screening, quantum mechanics and molecular dynamics simulation studies, I have screened these antimicrobial natural compounds against the multidrug resistance in microbes. I have also performed cytotoxicity against macrophage RAW 264.7 cell line viability assay by MTT assay. I have also designed a pharmacokinetic prediction model using automated machine learning.
During my doctoral study I handled independent projects, each of which honed my organizational skills. For example, SDS-PAGE, Bacteriology, Plant Biochemistry, Animal Parasitic Diseases, Cytotoxicity, Gel Electrophoresis, Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry, Cell Culture Techniques, Media Preparation, Leishmania parasite, Macrophage cell line, Bacterial strains culture, Phage contrast microscopy, SPSS, Prism, Chem Draw, Medicinal Plants, Drug Discovery, Microsoft Office, Computer Knowledge, Drug discovery studio software, Natural Antioxidants,

My career goals are in line with advancing natural medical therapy and improving patients’ life and life expectancy. I want to continue working on critical infectious diseases, especially prevalent in low-income countries, to understand the disease mechanisms and design & develop novel drug candidates. I am also keen about research outreach and public engagement activities; I believe in making research accessible to public for them to make an informed decision.
In conclusion, I believe I am in a good position to say that I am well suited for this role as
researcher.
