Lecturer in Pharmacology and Toxicology

Dr. Qamar Niaz (Niaz Q.) is working as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Bio-Sciences, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore (54000), Punjab-Pakistan. At present, Niaz Q. is on study leave and a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Tehran, Iran. He is a veterinarian by profession and acquired DVM and M.Phil (Pharmacology and Toxicology) degrees from UVAS, Lahore. He has over 8 years of teaching and research experience both at the national and international levels. During his stay in the department, he was busy in teaching different courses of Pharmacology and Toxicology to DVM, BS Zoology, BS Microbiology, BS Environmental Sciences and BS Nursing classes. He is the co-author of various research articles, abstracts, manuals and newspaper articles. Niaz Q. has field experience as a Dairy Farm Manager. He worked as a General Member of Special Animal and Emergency Relief Society (SAVERS), Vets Care Society and Vet Crescent Society, UVAS, Lahore. Niaz Q. served as a major member of the postgraduate students in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, UVAS, Lahore. He worked as a convener of "Registration and Invitation Committee" in an International Conference on Pharmaceutical Toxicology, 25-26 April 2013 and an organizer of the "One-day International Workshop on Electrophysiology" on 21st November 2014, UVAS, Lahore. Niaz Q. was the Departmental Focal Person for QEC queries and Departmental Website Updation. He served as a secretory, Departmental Board of Study, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, and a member of the inspection committee for the inspection of the items supplied by the bidder to the office of the Dean, Faculty of Bio-Sciences, UVAS, Lahore. He worked as a vice president of University Athletics Sports, UVAS, Lahore. He is a lifetime member of the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council and Alumni Association of UVAS.
