Mr. Venkata Kumar Sahu is a dynamic academician, researcher, and pharmaceutical professional with over 16 years of rich and diverse experience spanning academia, industry leadership, regulatory affairs, and project management in the pharmaceutical sector. Holding advanced degrees in both pharmacy and business administration, Mr. Sahu blends scientific expertise with strategic management acumen to drive innovation and excellence in pharmaceutical education and industry practices.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Einstein college of pharmacy, Khurdha, Mr. Sahu is deeply committed to shaping the future of pharmacy education by mentoring students, delivering high-impact lectures, and promoting research in pharmaceutics and drug delivery systems. His teaching philosophy emphasizes practical understanding, regulatory compliance, and industry readiness, aligning with Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) standards.
Mr. Sahu’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, where he graduated with distinction (CGPA: 8.05). He further pursued a Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutics from Anna University, Chennai, achieving a CGPA of 8.067, completing a notable project on the technology transfer of Cinacalcet tablets from R&D to production scale. Complementing his technical expertise, he earned an MBA from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, equipping him with strategic leadership and business development skills.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sahu has held multifaceted roles across prestigious organizations. He served as a Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, where he mentored students and strengthened academic programs. Concurrently, he has been serving as the Director at Welsun Pharmaceuticals Private Limited, Bhubaneswar, since 2016, where he oversees strategic operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters growth in pharmaceutical manufacturing and marketing.
His industry experience is extensive and globally oriented. As an Executive – Development Projects at Boehringer Ingelheim India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, he led end-to-end development projects, managed CRO collaborations, and prepared regulatory dossiers (CTD/ACTD) for submissions in India and Europe. Earlier, in key regulatory roles at PSA Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Celogen Pharma, and Actavis Pharma, he specialized in product registration, dossier preparation for USFDA, MCC, and other international markets, quality assurance, and technology transfer. His early career as a Technology Transfer Trainee at Actavis laid the foundation for his expertise in process scale-up and optimization.
Mr. Sahu is an active contributor to scientific literature and academic discourse. He co-authored a review article titled "Prebiotics and Ayurvedic Ingredients for Halitosis Treatment" published in the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research, reflecting his interest in integrating traditional medicine with modern science. He has also presented multiple research papers at national conferences, including the IPA-APTI conventions and a special session during the visit of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India.
Committed to continuous learning, Mr. Sahu has undergone PMP® Certification training, enhancing his project management capabilities. He is proficient in regulatory documentation, Microsoft Office, and design tools, and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Odia.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Sahu is passionate about reading novels, music, and playing table tennis. He is a dedicated family man, married, and originally hails from Kandhamal, Odisha.
