Seoul Pharmacists Association Calls for Fast Legislative Action on Pharmacy Independence and Drug Safety

Seoul Pharmacists Association (Seoul Pharmacy Association) submitted a legislative request to the National Assembly, asking for swift review and passage of pending pharmacist‑related bills aimed at strengthening pharmacy independence and drug safety management. The association emphasized that the government's plans to fully expand home delivery of medicines for telemedicine services and to increase sales of safety‑stock medicines must first be supported by proper safety verification and a robust management system. On March 3, the association visited the chair of the Health and Welfare Committee, Lee Man‑hee, and delivered a petition titled “Request for Prompt Legislation of Pending Pharmacist‑Related Bills,” urging rapid consideration of the legislation. The Seoul Pharmacists Association also highlighted the public service role of pharmacies in the context of these proposed changes.
