Korean Prime Pharmaceutical (한국프라임제약) has begun development of a cetirizine orally disintegrating tablet (ODT), expanding its formulation‑improvement strategy by adding a new dosage form to an existing active ingredient.
An exploratory Phase 1 clinical trial has been approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the National Clinical Trial Support Foundation. The study will enroll six healthy adult volunteers who will receive a single, fasted dose of the investigational product, identified as KPP‑2603‑T.
The trial aims to measure blood concentrations of cetirizine immediately after administration to evaluate the potential for early absorption through the oral mucosa. Results will inform further development of the ODT formulation.
