A Yale University research team conducted an integrated analysis of 51 longitudinal intervention studies to assess how diet, exercise, medications and supplements affect epigenetic aging markers.
The analysis, published in Nature Medicine, found that a healthy diet and regular physical activity were associated with improvements in biological indicators of aging. Similar changes were observed in trials of some diabetes and obesity treatments as well as anti‑inflammatory drugs.
Researchers cautioned that these findings do not prove that aging has been slowed or that any specific intervention extends lifespan, emphasizing that further investigation is needed.
