American silicone materials company based at Midland in Michigan, founded in 1943 as a joint venture between Dow Chemical and Corning Glass Works, taken fully into Dow in 2016 and renamed Dow Silicones. Makes silicone fluids, elastomers, gels, adhesives and excipients used in pharmaceutical and medical applications including drug delivery and transdermal systems, tubing and device components, wound care and skin products, alongside silicones for electronics, construction, personal care and industry.
