Howard University

American private historically black research university in Washington, District of Columbia, chartered by Congress in 1867. Teaches through the College of Medicine, the College of Pharmacy which is one of the oldest at a historically black university, the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, the College of Dentistry and the College of Arts and Sciences with chemistry and biology, runs Howard University Hospital, and carries out research in health disparities, cancer, sickle cell disease and drug discovery with clinical trials.
