Turkish public university in Malatya in eastern Anatolia, founded in 1975 and named after the president İsmet İnönü. Teaches through faculties of pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, health sciences, science and letters with chemistry and biology, engineering and agriculture, runs the Turgut Özal Medical Centre as its teaching hospital known for liver transplantation, and carries out research in pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry, transplantation medicine and biotechnology with its own laboratories.
