Nigerian federal scheme established in 1973 which requires graduates of universities and polytechnics under the age of thirty to serve the country for one year, with its directorate headquarters in Abuja and state secretariats across the federation. Posts corps members away from their home states after an orientation camp, placing pharmacists, doctors, nurses and laboratory scientists in public hospitals, health centres and pharmacies as well as graduates in schools and government offices, and runs community development and skills acquisition programmes during the service year.
