Portuguese regional pharmacovigilance unit based at the faculty of medicine of the University of Porto, one of the units of the national pharmacovigilance system coordinated by INFARMED, the national medicines authority. Collects, classifies, assesses and validates spontaneous reports of suspected adverse reactions to medicines from health professionals and patients in its region of the north of the country, feeds them into the national and European databases, and provides training, information and research on medicine safety.
