Sudanese public university at Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast, founded in 1994 out of earlier colleges in the state. Teaches through its faculties of pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, marine science and engineering, works with Port Sudan hospitals for clinical teaching, and carries out research on marine natural products of the Red Sea, medicinal plants and public health in the region.
