Research Triangle Institute

American non-profit research institute at Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, founded in 1958 by Duke University, North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina, working in about seventy-five countries. Carries out contract research for government and industry in drug discovery and development including medicinal chemistry and preclinical pharmacology, analytical chemistry and forensic toxicology, clinical trials and evidence based practice reviews, public health and global health programmes, and runs its own laboratories and survey research operations.
