Samsung Medical Center

South Korean tertiary hospital in the Gangnam district of Seoul, opened in 1994 by the Samsung Life Public Welfare Foundation and comprising Samsung Seoul Hospital, the cancer centre, the proton therapy centre and the Samsung Biomedical Research Institute, and a teaching hospital of Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. Provides tertiary and quaternary care with transplantation, cancer, cardiovascular and neuroscience services, runs hospital and clinical pharmacy departments with an investigational drug service, and hosts a large clinical trial centre carrying out early and later phase studies.
