Sudanese public university in Khartoum, descended from the Khartoum Technical Institute of 1902 and constituted as a university in 1990, one of the largest universities in the country. Runs colleges of pharmacy, medicine, medical laboratory science, veterinary medicine, science, engineering, agricultural studies and animal production, and its College of Pharmacy teaches pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, microbiology and pharmacology with research on Sudanese medicinal plants.
