Ghanaian teaching hospital at Tamale in the Northern Region, upgraded from a regional hospital to a teaching hospital in 2008 and the main referral centre for the north of the country. Provides emergency and trauma care, general medicine and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, oncology and specialist clinics, teaches medical, nursing and allied health students of the University for Development Studies, and runs its own clinical laboratories, blood bank, imaging services and hospital pharmacy.
