Universidad Central del Ecuador

Ecuadorian public university in Quito, whose origins go back to the eighteenth century and which took its present form in 1826, the country's oldest and largest university. Teaches through faculties of chemical sciences with pharmaceutical chemistry, medical sciences, dentistry, veterinary medicine, biological sciences and agricultural sciences alongside law, engineering and the humanities, runs its own teaching hospital arrangements and clinics, and carries out research in pharmacology and toxicology, natural products, food science and public health with its own laboratories.
