Private university in Puerto Rico with its central office in San Juan and eleven campuses across the island, founded in 1912 as a Presbyterian school at San Germán and the largest private university system in the territory. Teaches through schools of optometry, which awards the doctor of optometry degree, law, education, sciences and technology with chemistry, biology and biotechnology, nursing and allied health and business, and runs its own laboratories, clinics and research programmes.
