Colombian private university run by the Dominican Order with its main campus in Bogotá and further campuses at Bucaramanga, Medellín, Tunja and Villavicencio, founded in 1580 and re-established in 1965, the oldest university in the country. Teaches through faculties including medicine, nursing, chemistry, food chemistry, psychology, physical culture and rehabilitation, veterinary medicine and zootechnics and engineering, and runs teaching laboratories, clinics and research groups in health sciences, food and chemical analysis and biotechnology.
