Faculty of engineering of the Universidade da Beira Interior at Covilhã in central Portugal, part of a university created in 1986 out of the earlier polytechnic institute in a former textile town. Teaches chemical engineering, textile engineering, aeronautical, mechanical, electromechanical, civil, computer and industrial engineering, and carries out research in materials and textiles including medical textiles, chemical and process engineering, energy and aerospace with its own laboratories and industry projects.
