Science and technology university at Villeneuve-d'Ascq near Lille in northern France, which taught chemistry, physics, biology, earth sciences and engineering and merged in 2018 with the health and law universities of the city to form the Université de Lille. Its chemistry and biology laboratories, run jointly with the national research bodies, work on catalysis, materials, glycochemistry and biological chemistry, and the combined university now also teaches pharmacy and medicine.
