The Korean Pharmaceutical Association (대한약사회) and local pharmaceutical societies have continued a 350‑day campaign to resolve the controversy over the scope of work between pharmacists and herbal pharmacists (한약사). Since September of the previous year, they have organized relay rallies demanding that the licensing system clearly delineate each profession’s responsibilities and address drug‑handling problems caused by gaps in the current regulations.
On March 3, a rally was held in front of Seoul’s Cheong Wa Dae, attended by Ulsan Metropolitan City Pharmaceutical Society President Yoo Hyo‑seong and Korean Pharmaceutical Association’s Kim Tae‑kyu, a pharmacy executive. The participants called on the government and the National Assembly to take responsible action to resolve the herbal pharmacist issue.
