To introduce myself, I am Farrukh Zeeshan having a PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand. My area of doctoral research was "Stability evaluation of Protein drugs upon incorporation into solid lipid matrices intended for potential dosage forms". Whilst I worked on the development of "Controlled-release hybrid coated pellet-based tablet and capsule dosage forms" during my M. Sc research mode degree at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). I have nineteen (19) research publications so far in the referred journals and expecting Three/Four more to come in the year 2021. Apart from that I have also contributed six (6) book chapters as the primary author in various upcoming books by reputable publishers (Elsevier). Recently, I have been commissioned a book on Pharmaceutical Science as the primary editor by a reputable publisher. I have over 11 years of Academic/Research/Industrial experience and have exposure of two continents including Asia and Australasia. Currently I am working as a University Lecturer at School of Pharmacy, International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and well equipped to deliver engaging teaching across a spectrum of curriculum areas relevant to the education of future pharmaceutical scientists and pharmacists. In addition to broad experience in teaching and learning activities and academic management. I also have knowledge/experience in the following research areas: 1). Development of formulations for small molecule drugs or bio-macromolecules (proteins), 2). Drug delivery-based formulation approaches, 3). Protein chemistry 4). Biophysical characterization techniques, and analytical techniques such as HPLC, Spectroscopy, FTIR, Protein activity assays, 5). Industrial Consultancy Projects while working in academia and have successfully completed two Industrial projects as co-investigator. In addition, I am well familiar with the following teaching areas: 1) Construction of exams papers in accordance with Bloom taxonomy, 2) Curriculum development, 3) Assessment using various approaches (MCQ, MEQ, SAQ etc) 4) Academic administration (Module/Semester co-ordination, Questions setting and vetting, industrial visits and attachments), 5) Development of Problem based learning (PBL) triggers and their execution, 6) Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE), 7) E-Learning tools. I have career background in pharmaceutics and have experience of working in a suitable role in the pharmaceutical industry too. I meet the qualifications required as I not only have an undergraduate degree in pharmacy but also have acquired an M. Sc and PhD in Pharmaceutics/Drug Development Science. I am a skilled educator to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of medicines development (e.g., pharmaceutics). Moreover, I am capable to generate world-class research outputs in a field aligned to the development of medicines for human use such as drug delivery. In addition, I can demonstrate knowledge and practice of teaching students in higher education and an awareness of higher education processes for curriculum design, delivery and assessment and have experience of curriculum design both at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. Lastly, I also have experience and knowledge of pharmaceutics, including drug delivery and formulation science and capable to work on my own initiative and as part of a team; and have good organizational and presentation skills. I have industrial experience in topical and parenteral drug delivery systems and equipped with the essential attributes required for a role in academia or research.
